Scent and the Scenting Dog

This is a book I asked for last Christmas to help me learn more about how my drug dog's nose works. The majority
of the book is based on author William Syrotuck's personal experience, obervations, and study of relevant literature.
The book is fairly technical, and I have been quite glad for my background in biology to help me more easily understand some
of the chapters in this book.
This book is mainly directed towards the use of canines in finding people who don't want to be found. However,
it is easy to see how this book is beneficial to me as a drug dog handler. Get ready for a technical, yet incredibly
helpful, book to help you better understand your working, hunting, or pet dog.

How the Irish Saved Civilization

This book, by Thomas Cahill, is one of a series of books called "Hinges of History". While, yes, it is an informative
book about Christian history and its role in preserving knowledge during the Dark Ages, it is an incredibly well-written and
engaging book that should not scare off even the most casual reader. Once you read this book, you will not only have a greater
understanding about Biblical history, but you will want to read other books in this fascinating series.
